Lori and Her Fellas

Today was a WONDERFUL day. The weather was perfect and it is a "no driving weekend". That's what Brandon and I call the weekends we get every once in awhile when we decide to stay around home all weekend. After spending some or all of the last six weekends on the road, we were excited about this weekend.

We started it by giving Carter fruit for the first time...peaches. We tried a couple of spoonfuls of straight peaches and then we mixed it with his cereal. He LOVED it.

After breakfast, we went to get Carter's six month pictures taken. He was a bit shy at first, but then warmed up and we ended up with some good shots.

In the afternoon Kara, Tim, and Riley came over and we went to a place just a couple of miles from my school called Exploration Acres. It is a very cool place. Carter even got to go on his first hayride. They have a GIANT corn maze (over 7 miles of trails). We started with that and went about a third of the way through. We made it to 5 out of the 15 checkpoints. The maze is actually three mazes in one. We made it all of the way through the pig maze and then picked parts of the others to travel through. We then spent the rest of the afternoon shooting a corn cannon, going through a straw bale fort, riding pedal cars, checking out the antiques, racing duckies in the water pump area, and eating elephant ears. Whew! What a day! It was super fun and Carter was such a good boy.

I have had Flat Stanley with me for awhile. He has to go back to my friend Julie's classroom soon, but he got to enjoy the day with us too....The Ducky Race

Are we lost?...Riley, is Mommy lost?

Do you people know where we are going?

Kidding Around in the Hay Fort....Shooting the Corn Cannon

We finished up our day with dinner out and then back to our house where Riley and Carter had fun playing. Carter makes the funniest yelling noises at Riley. It's like he expects Riley to understand his secret kid language.

I'll scream at you and then you laugh, OK?

Now both of my boys are sleeping, and I too must turn in for the night. May God bless all of you as richly as He has us!
