Pepaw and Uncle Tim

My Father's Day tribute would not be complete without saying a few words about some other incredible men that Carter has in his life.

My dad, Pepaw, was blessed with girls when he had children. He had to live in a house of all girls (Even most of our pets were girls.) Dad is still alive to talk about it. We spent most of my childhood and teenage years living in a one bathroom house. Dad took it all in stride. He watched us date and fight and again survived it all. He came home to car crashes and unauthorized parties, and ...you guessed it, he remained calm. For all that he went through, God richly blessed him with grandsons. While Dad loves his girls, I am sure a little part of him is super excited to have boys for grandbabies, and I can't think of a better Pepaw for my little boy!

Brandon was so glad that Kara picked a golfer for her husband. I am just happy that Kara picked a good Daddy for their son. Tim is so good with Riley. He spent lots of time when Riley was little teaching him his colors, alphabet, etc. He is raising Riley to be a good, decent man. Tim is not only a great dad to Riley. He is a wonderful uncle to Carter.

This posting would not be complete without mentioning two men that had a huge impact on our families. Brandon's grandpa, George, and my grandpa, Hobert, were the picture of great dads and grandads. They were smart and humorous, dedicated and respectable. They worked hard to provide a good life for their families, and we are still reaping the rewards of their hard work. I only wish that they had lived long enough to see Carter. One of his little smiles and they would've been hooked. Carter will know about his great-grandpas in the pictures we show and the stories we tell. Happy Father's Day to the wonderful men in our lives!
