Relay 2009

For the last five years our family has participated in Relay For Life. This year was bittersweet as we remembered how far cancer research has come for some (Mom and Uncle Lou) while still others cannot be cured (Aunt Brenda, Kacy, and George). We made up our minds that we were going to continue Relaying as we always have by celebrating our survivors and remembering those we've loved and lost. Here's a few pictures. For more check out our Relay blog at http://www.claudiascure.blogspot.com/

This year's theme was Marga-relay-ville. Here's Riley with our sign.

Every year our team holds up a two-sided banner during the survivor lap. Here's our banner this year.

Dad (AKA Dorothea) went all out to raise money this year by competing in the Miss-ter Relay contest. That's right, a beauty pageant for men dressed as ladies. Dad won with a total of $2418 and was crowned Miss-ter Relay 2009. Our team is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to Miss-ter Relay. Every time we've competed, we've won.
